Daft Punk: Human After All remix album finally gets international release

It's been a long time coming. A VERY long time coming. But after almost a decade of Japanese exclusivity, Daft Punk's Human After All remix package is finally available internationally. Long sought after, the album contains some rare remixes of tracks from the duo's third studio album. Why now? Who knows, Daft Punk seem to just do what they want, when they want to, but the timing of this release seems bizarre to say the least, given that we're still emerging from their Random Access Memories blitz last year.

Still we're not ones to complain about a new Daft Punk release, and Human After All: Remixes contains reworkings of much-loved tracks by some real heavy hitters. Go below to find out more.

Random Access Memories: Remixes has long been sought after by fans. It was released over 8 years ago, shortly after the release of the actual album, but there was a catch: it was only ever released in Japan, and even then, in extremely limited quantities. Then, a few months ago, back in June, the remix album was oddly re-released, wight he addition of four new tracks. Great! We'll finally get to hear it! Um, well. no. Not exactly. Because once again, for some unknown reason, it only made i to Japanese shores.

But now, it's FINALLY available internationally. Many people have wisely given up trying to make sense of Daft Punk's peculiar release strategies, which is probably just as well, as not only has the album finally shown up here, but it did so with barely a whisper. It just suddenly appeared on iTunes, Spotify and the like a few days ago.

It gets even stranger, though. Because this international edition is exactly the same as the Japanes re-release in every way. Oh, except there's a FIFTH new track on this latest release. An apology for the slightly late arrival to our shores? Who can say. But the story doesn't stop there. The fifth additional track is a remix of Technologic by Le Knight Club. For those of you who don't know, Le Knight Club is another project by Guy-Man De Homem-Christo, alongside Éric Chedeville. Fair enough, you might think. Ah, but the reason the inclusion of this track is strange, is that until now, it hasn't really officially existed. It's never been available to buy or listen to, and according to HarderBloggerFaster, it's existence has scarcely even been acknowledged.

And yet, here it is, slapped on to the end of this peculiar remix package. Why now, after all this time? Who knows, but it's entirely possible that the duo have had absolutely no input into this release, as this is often the case when labels decide to make these odd packages or re-releases of their work, so maybe it was never even meant to see the light of day.

Either way, Human After All: Remixes is available now through iTunes, and features remixes form the likes of Soulwax, SebastiAn, Justice, and the Robots themselves. Grab it now before it disappears back into the midsts of time.
