For a while now, we've been teasing the prospect of something a bit special on this little startup blog of mine. Next weekend is GlobalGathering here in the UK, which I'm personally massively excited for, as I'm going! What does this mean for you? Well, starting on Monday we're going to have a raft of posts and coverage leading up to the big event, continuing throughout the week and beyond.
GlobalGathering is a massive dance and electronic festival that takes place in Stratford-Upon-Avon. This'll be it's 14th year, and the festival has grown astronomically from it's humble beginnings back in 2001. Why did we pick this festival? Simply because of the astounding lineup. Over the course of two days, there'll be sets from headliners Chase & Status, David Guetta, Alesso and, of course, The Prodigy, as well as from other heavy hitters such as Netsky, Madeon, Knife Party, Vicetone, Sub Focus, Jaguar Skills, Krewella, Tommy Trash... I could go on.
It's set to be an absolutely incredible weekend of dance music, and here at EO, we've got you covered. Click through to find out more, and to see the full lineup.
So what can you expect? All of our weekly features will be dedicated to covering the festival in some way, and we'll be looking in depth at the artists that are going to be playing there.There'll be special party playlists featuring the acts in attendance, so that if you sadly find yourself without a ticket, you can just pretend you were there anyway! I'll also be trying to cover the event, from the event, with daily updates, photos and videos - I'm not sure how practically possible that's going to be, but we'll see!
And then, after the fact, there'll be even more coverage, with reviews of all of the acts that we're able to get to see, and of the festival experience as a whole.
Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, there's no streaming from the festival, otherwise we'd post and point you in the direction of the live sets, but we're going to try to get some video of any new songs that crop up in artists' set.
It's going to be awesome, and I hope you'll join us for it.
