Blinders - Riffter

Blinders has been making quite a name for himself recently with some massive remixes, but his latest offering comes in the form of an original track, called Riffter.

Riffter is an absolutely thumping electro track, from start to finish. The buildup begins oh-so-quietly, with melodies swirling around and bubbling away, doing little to hint at what's about to come, but then boy does it hit hard.

The track is a masterclass in demonstrating that silence can be just as effective as any loud, blaring synth. Riffter, as it happens, has both. A sharp stab of a chord is followed by a period of silence longer than you might be used to within a dance track, but it helps to create a sense of scale that would enable this track to prove a massive hit on the festival circuit this summer.

The melodies are soaring and uplifting, the drop is beautifully executed, and there's even a touching moment of piano before you're thrown in for round two. What more is there to say, Blinders has created a fantastic slice of dance music that is refreshingly innovative for an absolutely banging club track. It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.
