Feel Good Friday - Week 1

Come on, take a seat. You’ve been working hard all week. Allow us to massage you with our tentacles… What do you mean, that’s not your sort of thing? Hmm. Well, here’s a selection of laid-back tracks, carefully curated by EO to get you set for the weekend instead.

Welcome to a brand new feature here on EO, where we aim to simultaneously relax you and rid you of your stresses from the last week, and gear you up for the weekend ahead. Each week, we'll careful select some tracks that we think will help you to chill out and get in the weekend mood, and craft a playlist just for you (yes, you madame) that you can listen to with a G&T. Or a glass of wine. Or a 2 litre bottle of White Lightning. Whatever's your bag, really. This week, we've got Duke Dumont, Clean Bandit, Röyksopp and more. Click through to listen to this week's playlist.

We'll have a good mix of the new and the old each week, too. Representing the new this week, we've got Sunshower from PrototypeRaptor, which if you read our review last week you'll know is our favourite track from his new album. We've also got Duke Dumont's latest slice of House goodness in Won't Look Back. Clean Bandit's new single is also present - it's Come Over from their recently released album, New Eyes. And if you like a bit of laid-back D&B, we've got Fred V & Grafix's most recent single Forest Fires for you.

Then we've got some older tracks for you. Marcus Schössow's remix of Coldplay's Midnight dropped a few months ago, and it's still a lovely, slightly more upbeat take on the original. Röyksopp's Something In My Heart was released last year as a B-side to their single Running To The Sea, both being fantastic, laid-back tracks; we'll probably feature the latter at some point. PNAU's project with Elton John was released back in 2012, and the lead/title single, Good Morning To The Night remains a wonderfully upbeat bit of pop, from a surprisingly wonderful collaboration. And finally, we're going all the way back 8 years ago, for 2006's Exodus Honey by Honeycut, made popular by the Apple iMac advert campaign it was featured in (it also played the first time you installed Leopard and Snow Leopard).

We really hope there's something for everyone here and that you get your weekend off to the best start possible, and feel free to hit us up on Twitter, Facebook or through the Contact page if there's something you'd like to see here next week.
