Televisor - Find That Someone (Feat. Richard Judge)

Televisor, another fantastic artist within the Monstercat stable, are back, and are preparing to drop a brand new EP at the beginning of next month. Before then, though, we've been treated to a preview in the form of said-EP's first track, Find That Someone, featuring the vocals of Richard Judge.



In Find That Someone, the duo have given us another delightful slice of their unique brand of disco house. The ultra funky bassline from the groundwork for the whole track, allowing their retro synths and addictive piano parts to glide effortlessly above, taking the listener deeper and deeper into an unstoppable groove.

Richard Judge's vocals seem perfectly suited to the track, with an absolutely addictive chorus. He bravely carries the track into a key change about half way through. Particularly in dance music, a substantial key change can be very hit or miss, but here, Televisor have absolutely nailed it - the middle section both nicely compliments and contrasts with the bookends of the song in equal measure, and the transition back to the original key is effortless.

The production is immaculate, and the whole track dances along at quite a pace - I do wonder if it's perhaps slightly too fast. Just a few BPMs lower would've given the lyrics a little bit more room to breathe, as they do on occasion sound slightly frantic.

I do also wonder if one of Televisor is a fan of Bag Raiders, because the chorus shares more than a few similarities with their track Sunlight...

But even if that is true (disclaimer: I'm totally not making plagiarism accusations!), it's by no means a bad thing, as that track is fantastic, and Televisor have done a fantastic job at injecting Find That Someone with enough of their flair that it simply oozes from every bar of the track. Ew.

Find That Someone is a simply glorious, technicolour song that is sure to make you want to get up and dance like no one's watching. Everything comes together beautiful, and it leaves me eagerly awaiting their new EP. You can get their Venture EP on April 6th, but for now, Find That Someone should be more than enough to tide you over.
