Mr Belt & Wezol - Feel So Good

Mr Belt & Wezol are back, following up their popular track Shiver from a few months ago with their latest House original, Feel So Good.

Since Shiver, more and more producers have jumped on the House revival bandwagon. With that track, Mr Belt & Wezol really struck a chord with their edgy take on the genre. But with the space becoming ever more crowded, can they still stand out from the crowd with latest track Feel So Good? Find out, below.

Feel So Good has a lot to live up to if it's to surpass Mr Belt & Wezol's last original. As you'd expect, the production is immaculate, with the fantastic House bass cutting through the mix perfectly, and complimenting the synth and piano work going on above it. The melody is infectious, highly memorable; it's also significantly less dark than the work they did in Shiver. Sliced, dreamy vocals are peppered throughout, with the track name only finally being revealed in the lyrics prior to each drop.

The harmonies displayed throughout are well placed and very pleasing to listen to. This is particularly true of the piano part, which features some very creative chords, and the track has a very rich and full feeling to it. It almost has a sort of tribal feeling to it, courtesy of this combined with the on-point production.

Though Feel So Good is undoubtedly a good House track, it really does lack the spark that drew me to their previous release. It just feels a little bit safe, which is a shame after the promise shown in Shiver. I don't particularly enjoy comparing an artist's work to another piece of their work, but I find it hard not to in this case because I so wanted more from this track.

I also feel that Feel So Good is unnecessarily long - everything the Dutch duo have to say has pretty much been said by the halfway point, and the rest is just a retread of old ground.

Still, it's not a bad track by any measure. Not at all. In fact, it's a pretty good track. But after some of their other work, I simply can't help but feel slightly underwhelmed. Would I recommend that you add it to your library? Yes. But you might not find yourself going back to it as often as you'd hoped.

It made me feel quite good. But not so good.
