Tove Lo - Talking Body (Gryffin Remix)

Sometimes an artist that you've never heard of comes along with a track that makes you instantly take notice. Well, I'll definitely be following Gryffin from now on. That's the moniker for US-based Dan Griffith. Judging from his Soundcloud, the producer doesn't have a vast array of tracks just yet. But judging from his remix of Tove Lo's Talking Body, what there is will be of very high quality.

That's because Gryffin seems to have inadvertently crafted one of the tracks of the summer, roughly 5 months early. What makes this remix so good? Why not head on below to find out...

Lush. That's probably the word I'd go for here. From the opening, reverse piano and finger snaps, you know that this is going to be one slick remix. Gryffin skilfully compliments Tove Lo's excellent vocals with an array of colourful sounds, making a fantastically feel good track in the process.

A warm guitar riff instills itself as one of the track's other highlights, first appearing throughout the buildup, and smoothly taking us into the crux of the track, where the plucked bassline successfully grounds the whole thing.

Tove's vocals continue to be whispered over the smooth sounds beneath it, as Gryffin's addictive sequence of vibrant chords continues to move the track along, whilst also simultaneously grafting itself to your brain for the foreseeable future.

I hadn't heard of Gryffin before; now I'll be following him extremely closely indeed, as this remix of Talking Body exudes quality, and has a level of polish that is sadly often missing from some recent House releases. Press play, lie back, relax - you definitely won't regret it.
